You and a guest have the opportunity to join the Rangers 2020 Casino Night Team Photo after team introductions. You will receive a frame printed photo following the event. Volunteering for a FDRD fundraising event is just as valuable to us as time spent volunteering for trail and forest projects. If your trail maintenance days are behind you or you just are not that into digging dirt and carrying logs, these volunteer opportunities are much less physically demanding. Purchasing tickets and attending FDRD fundraising events is another great way to give back, especially if you do not have the time to volunteer.
Casino Night – Saturday, February 8, 2020, 6:00pm – 9:00pm at the Silverthorne Pavilion
Volunteers Needed: 12 (2, 1.5 hour shifts) to walk around serving appetizers
FDRD’s signature fundraising event. Join the fun at Casino Night! Try your hand at poker, blackjack, roulette, or craps and if you win big, you’ll choose a prize. A $50 ticket includes $500 in “funny money” for gambling and appetizers for the entire night. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase and the night is made complete with a giant silent auction, filled with outdoor gear, restaurant certificates, cat skiing, rafting, lift tickets, skis, snowboards and more.

Frisco’s BrewSki – Saturday, March 14th, 1:00pm-5:00pm at the Frisco Nordic Center
Volunteers Needed: 8-10 to help pour beer, and clean up the after party.
Partner Organizations: Town of Frisco
BrewSki is a beer festival on skis at the Frisco Nordic Center complete with a costume contest. FDRD provides volunteers for the event and in return, the Town of Frisco donates $5 of each registration fee to FDRD.
Elks Breakfast – March 22nd, 9am-12pm at the Summit County Elks Lodge
Volunteers are not needed at this event
Partner Organizations: Summit County Elks Lodge
This all-you-can-eat-breakfast buffet along with a silent auction is a joint fundraiser with the Summit County Elks Lodge. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. FDRD takes half of the proceeds from ticket sales, (the other half goes to the Elks Lodge for providing tickets, food, volunteers, venue, etc.) and all of the proceeds from the silent auction.
Dillon Farmers Market – Fridays, June – September, 9am-2pm on Lodgepole Street
Volunteers Needed: 1-2 volunteers each week to help sell FDRD merchandise as well as a selection of maps, hiking guides, and naturalist guides. We also provide the public with information on hiking, invasive weeds, wildfires, wilderness rules, and all of our upcoming volunteer projects.
Bacon & Bourbon Festival @ Keystone Resort – June 27-28, 2020, 12pm-6pm
Volunteers Needed: 75 (3 hour shifts) over 2 days – The jobs are: Will Call Check-in, ID Checkers, Bacon Buck Sellers, Customer Service Representatives, Bacon Runners, & Floaters
Partner Organizations: Keystone Neighbourhood Company
If we are able to gather enough volunteers, the Keystone Neighbourhood Company makes a generous donation to FDRD. Each volunteer gets a free t-shirt, and either a bacon sampling wristband, a drink ticket, or Bacon Bucks to spend at the festival.
Frisco’s Concert in the Park – 2020 date TBD at the Frisco Historic Park
Volunteers Needed: 8-10 to sell beer and wine
Partner Organizations: Town of Frisco
Every Thursday of the summer the Town of Frisco hosts a free concert at the Frisco Historic Park gazebo. Each week a different, local nonprofit provides volunteers to sell beer and wine, and then the organization takes in all the proceeds from beverage sales.
DooWop Denny Concert – date TBD, at the Community & Senior Center
Volunteers Needed: Provided by Summit Mountain Bikers
Partner Organizations: Summit Seniors & Summit Mountain Bikers
DooWop Denny donates his time and puts on a rockin’ oldies concert at the Summit County Senior Center and FDRD takes the proceeds. The leg work for this event is done by the Summit County Seniors in conjunction with the Summit Mountain Bikers (SMB,) and the funds are used for our multiple SMB projects throughout the summer. Tickets are $25 and guests can bring food and drinks for a potluck style dinner.
Frisco Fall Fest – Saturday, September 5th 2020, 10:30am – 5:30pm
Volunteers Needed: 25 (2, 3.5 hour shits)
Partner Organizations: Town of Frisco
Every year Frisco hosts Fall Fest, a local food and art festival, on their charming & mellow Main Street. FDRD will be fundraising by selling drinks at Fall Fest and selling our own merchandise at a booth as well. Volunteers are needed for pouring and selling beer and wine, selling food tickets, and for manning the FDRD booth.

CO Gives Day – December 8th, 2020
Volunteers are not needed at this event.
This annual, statewide movement celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. The $1.5 Million Incentive Fund made possible by Community First Foundation, FirstBank and other community members boosts the value of every donation – the more we are able to fundraise, the more additional money we receive from the Community First Foundation.
